The winning group from the 2024-25 Minnow Tank Project at Willow Lane Elementary presented a donation to their charity of choice: Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.

Third graders at Willow Lane Elementary wrapped up their Minnow Tank project, inspired by the TV show Shark Tank, which teaches the value of service, teamwork and persuasive speaking.

Willow Lane Elementary fifth graders are “taking over” local restaurant Donatelli’s in White Bear Lake working as the cooks, servers and hosts over the lunch hour. The fifth grade class is donating the tips they make while working to WBLAHS student Gabe’s Kessel's cancer treatment.

At Willow Lane, fifth graders worked with members of the community to write resumes and cover letters in preparation for their Donatelli’s “takeover”. This activity was highlighted in a video issue of the district's The Week in 62.4 Seconds.
